Pets are some of the most loved crystals and the hardest to get right, because dark fur turns into clear glass. A good photo fixes most of it.
The photo
- Eye level with the pet, in soft daylight. Light catching the fur shows its texture.
- Eyes in focus: they are what people look at first.
- Avoid flash (it flattens fur and makes glowing eyes) and very dark rooms.
Dark fur
Black and dark brown fur is the hardest subject in crystal. DTO Crystal lifts large dark areas so they still burn, but a photo with light on the fur always wins. White and light pets engrave beautifully.
Background and depth
Let the site remove the background so the pet floats in the glass. Pets get a shallow 3D relief (about 10 mm), which stays sharp from every angle.
