You do not need to know anything about point clouds or laser settings. One Click picks them for you; these five steps take about five minutes before the burn.
1. Pick the photo
- A sharp photo where the face (or the pet) is big in the frame: head and shoulders is ideal.
- Soft, even light. Harsh sun makes white patches; a dark room photo makes grain.
- A phone photo is fine. HEIC from an iPhone works.
2. Upload it in One Click
Open the crystal maker, stay on One Click and drop the photo in. We remove the background, pick the depth and quality for the kind of photo, and build a preview by ourselves.
3. Add a name or a date
Type up to two lines under the photo, or tap an occasion (birthday, memorial, wedding) to fill them in. The letters are sized and placed to fit inside the glass.
4. Check the lit preview
Turn the lit crystal with your finger or mouse. It shows the crystal on an LED base the way it will glow. Not happy with the crop or the size? Tap More options, or switch to Advanced.
5. Download and burn
- Tap Make my crystal: it saves the file for your laser (a PLY for the xTool F2 Ultra UV, where it is tested). Other file types (STL, GLB, DXF, ZIP) are behind the small ▾ arrow on the right of the button.
- In xTool Studio, import it and choose Keep size, so it stays the size you picked.
- Use our tested K9 settings: 65% power, 200 µs, 40 kHz, 0.2 mm layers. The settings card in the download lists them.
