Terms

Terms of service

Last updated October 14, 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and Disrupt The Ordinary LLC ("we", "us"), the maker of DTO Crystal (the "Service"). By using the Service, creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Accounts and the paid Pro plan are not open yet. Parts of these terms marked (when available) apply once they are. Until then every feature is free and no payment is taken.

1. What the Service does

DTO Crystal turns photos and 3D models into point-cloud and mesh files for inner engraving of crystal with a laser, and shows previews of the result. Previews, grades, burn-time estimates and tone checks are approximations made on a screen. They are not a promise of how a real crystal will look.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to create a paid subscription. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you may agree to these terms for it.

3. Accounts

Accounts (when available):

  • Give a real email address and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Tell us right away at Thedyckmans@disrupttheordinary.com if you think someone else used your account.
  • You can delete your account any time in Account → Delete account.

4. Free plan and DTO Crystal Pro

  • The free plan includes One Click crystals and, once Pro opens, one photo a day with every Pro feature. We may change what the free plan includes, and we limit free use to stop abuse (for example, per device and per network).
  • DTO Crystal Pro (when available) is a subscription that renews automatically every month until you cancel, at the price shown next to the Subscribe button and at checkout, plus any tax. Your card is charged at the start of each month. Before you subscribe, the checkout screen shows the price, the billing period, that it renews automatically and how to cancel, and asks you to tick a box agreeing to it.
  • After you subscribe we send an email confirming the plan, the price, the renewal terms and how to cancel.
  • Cancel any time online in Account → Manage billing, with no call or email needed. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays on until the end of the month you already paid for.
  • We will email you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect for your subscription. The new price applies from your next renewal after that; you can cancel before then. If we ever offer a yearly plan, we will email a reminder 15 to 45 days before each yearly renewal.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.

5. Refunds

Because every feature can be tried free before subscribing, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. If you were charged by mistake (for example, a duplicate charge, or a renewal after you cancelled), email Thedyckmans@disrupttheordinary.com within 30 days and we will refund it. If the Service is unavailable for a long time through our fault, we will refund the affected period on request.

6. Your photos and files

  • You keep all rights to the photos and models you upload and to the files you make.
  • Most processing happens in your browser. Some features send a copy of the photo to a processing provider (see the Privacy policy). You give us and those providers only the permission needed to process it for you; we do not keep it, sell it, or use it to train models.
  • You confirm you have the right to use every photo and model you upload, including the permission of people shown in it where that is needed, and that engraving it does not break anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights.

7. What you may not do

  • Upload anything illegal, or any sexual content involving minors (we report it to the authorities).
  • Upload intimate images of anyone without their consent, or content that harasses, threatens or promotes hatred against people.
  • Upload or reproduce material you do not have the rights to (for example, copyrighted characters or logos for sale without a license).
  • Get around the free-plan limits, share one paid account among unrelated people, resell the Service, or copy, scrape or reverse-engineer it.
  • Overload, probe or break the Service or the services it relies on.

We may remove access or close accounts that break these rules, without refund where the break is serious or repeated.

9. Lasers and safety

Lasers are dangerous. Follow your machine maker's safety instructions, wear the right eye protection, and never leave a running laser alone. Results vary with the machine, crystal, focus and settings. The suggested settings are a starting point only: always test on a spare or low-cost blank first. Import files at their real size (in xTool Studio, choose Keep size). We are not responsible for damaged crystals, machines, or materials.

10. Other services

The Service relies on others, including Vercel (hosting), fal.ai (AI background removal and 3D figures), and, when available, Supabase (accounts) and Stripe (payments). Their own terms apply to their part. We are not responsible for their outages or actions.

11. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that a file will engrave as previewed.

12. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, crystals or business. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

13. Your responsibility to us

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you uploaded or how you used the Service or its files, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

14. Changes and ending

We may change the Service or these terms. For important changes we will give notice on the site or by email before they take effect; using the Service after that means you accept them. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end the Service, with a pro-rated refund of any prepaid period if we end it for reasons other than your breach.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please email Thedyckmans@disrupttheordinary.com so we can try to resolve it within 30 days. Any dispute that is not resolved goes to the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, except that either side may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived.

16. Notice for California residents

Under California Civil Code section 1789.3: the Service is provided by Disrupt The Ordinary LLC, the mailing address we give on request by email, Thedyckmans@disrupttheordinary.com. Charges are shown on the Pricing page and at checkout; the free plan costs nothing. To resolve a complaint, email us first. You may also contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (916) 445-1254 or (800) 952-5210.

17. Everything else

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them with the business. These terms (with the Privacy policy) are the whole agreement about the Service.
